somatic bodywork

eddy levin mcgrath
hello!
I am Eddy and am offering somatic body work sessions. Following the Pantarei Approach, I combine spoken communication with intuitive touch to facilitate flow and integration of the body(mind). I believe in each individual’s inner capacity to heal, transform and access embodied resources, strength and spaciousness.
My role as a practitioner is to offer a container in which the client can tune into their own embodied experience and feel empowered to express, release, hold, or be with whatever their whole self needs to process during the session.

what to expect
At the beginning of each session, you are invited to share whatever feels present for the given the day, your mood and the dynamic between us. To continue supporting our conversation, I then offer intuitive touch, usually on a massage table. Standing, sitting or moving around the room is also an option. Wear clothes that you feel comfortable receiving touch in.
I also offer online sessions in order to make my work available to people who don´t live near where I practice and to those that online sessions work better for. While in person, I practice with physical touch, online we will find ways of connecting to the body while staying in dialogue. I may guide you through somatic exercises, self-touch or offer prompts for connecting to yourself and your physical space. Primarily, we will follow whatever you need to go through together, and stay in a verbal conversation, practicing staying close to our intuition and physical senses.
Sessions are 60 minutes long (except the first session, which is 90 minutes) and I ask for a sliding scale fee of 70-170 dollars per session. If this pricing is not available to you, please write and we can find an exchange that works well for us both. I don´t want cost to be a barrier to you experiencing this work. If you are able to afford the higher end of the scale, this is supporting me and my practice to offer more affordable sessions to those who cannot afford to pay more. I ask you to consider what access to resources you have and how you usually distribute these when making a decision on how much to pay. I am also happy to have an honest conversation about it and find a price together that feels good for us both.
I am a certified practitioner of the Pantarei Approach where I trained in Berlin and have been giving sessions since September 2021. I am also a Trainer in Emotional CPR (eCPR) .
I offer sessions in English.
what clients have said:
“Working with Eddy has been one of the most profound and impactful experiences with a practitioner in my healing journey. I’ve always found it hard to explain to people what exactly happens on the table - somatic bodywork carries a kind of quiet, ineffable magic that moved me on a very deep level. each session left me feeling either awestruck, supported, more whole, empowered and/or seen. Eddy has the ability to hold space with gentleness, care and a presence that could slow me down in a very grounding way. in moments of dysregulation and when my mind began to spiral, their warmth and delicate humor helped me come back to the entirety of myself with a smile on my face and in my heart. I am deeply grateful to Eddy and to the modality of somatic bodywork itself. to me this practice can be more than healing - it can be liberating, humanizing, and incredibly transformative on a more than individual level.”

“When I sat with Eddy, it was shortly after a dramatic event that left me needing care and a space to process. Eddy created a safe, grounded environment where I could explore what was going on beneath the surface. We spent time talking before moving to the table, where they supported my process from a somatic perspective. The light bodywork they offered helped me feel safe and gently brought me out of my head and back into my body. I highly recommend working with Eddy - they are a gifted and deeply attuned healer.”

“I never thought that somatic therapy could work out online. Knowing how clear, flexible, precise, emotional intelligent, calm and gentle Eddy was when we met in presence, I gave the online sessions a try - and I am so happy I did. Having Eddy by my side to support me navigating my life journey, encourages me to see all the signs my body gives me, reminds me of my bailey feeling, of my trust and courage and gives me space for anything I need, may it be to just lay down, be witnessed while taking a break.
Thanks for that!”

about me
I am a white, trans*non binary, neurodivergent, able-bodied queer person with predominantly Jewish (anti-Zionist), Irish and Scottish settler ancestry. I was born in Tkaronto (Toronto), the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. I was based in Berlin for 8 years and have recently moved to Greenfield, Massachusetts, the land of the Nipmuc, Pocumtuc and Wabanaki Confederacy people. I have been involved professionally with various creative practices, including dance, film, drumming, improvisational music, and group play with crafted objects.
As a practitioner, I am committed to being present and practising non-judgement with my clients and myself. I am aware of how we carry intergenerational trauma and paradoxes in our bodies, and I’m continuing to learn how intersections & systemic oppressions affect each person differently.
I’m always open to feedback on how I can offer sessions in ways that more empower my clients.
